Disappointed?
Well I bloody well am!
I was hoping to post about a magnificent Halloween party where I was dressed as “Little Dead Ridinghood” and my Glugster was dressed as a monk, with cupcakes decorated like brains and lots of good company after having my hair done on Saturday morning… in order to distract you from the fact that I have not yet picked a winner for my competition! I hired costumes and everything!
Instead, I woke up on Saturday morning just after 4AM with a horribly upset stomach and feeling vaguely nauseous. Off to the loo I took myself, limping as fast as I could… but it was FAAAAR from over! The nausea didn’t go away, and I can tell you- its been a long time since I wished I could throw up like I wished I could on Saturday morning!
See, about 3 years ago I had a Nissen Fundoplication to repair my hiatus hernia. The surgeon literally built me a new stomach valve- which does NOT work in reverse! Which means I can’t throw up. Which means I cannot get rid of whatever the fork is irritating my stomach and I just have to wait it out. Its torture :(
By the time I went to physio for my ankle at 9:15AM, I was only a little nauseous so I thought the worst was over.
At 11AM I took myself off the the salon for my new do, determined not to miss my hair appointment… but I had to make a couple of dashes to the bathroom while I was there and ended up begging my sweetheart to bring me some Valoid or something. I am pretty damn sure that I can’t throw up, but I would rather not take any chances. By the time my hair was done- and it looks fanFRIGGINtastic by the way- my sweet Glugs drove me home and I was gagging pretty much constantly.
I faced the facts and sent out text and twitter messages to let my invited guests know our party was off.
I went straight to bed, and when I woke up several hours later my entire body hurt! Like I was wrapped in a blanket of pain! I dosed myself with yet more Valoid and lotsa pain meds and stayed in bed!
I didn’t get out of bed until Sunday some time… we had to go and fetch the knucklehead from his buddy’s house- where he HAD had a Halloween party, with cupcakes I baked for him that DID look like brains!
I sincerely hope your weekend was better than mine!

Glad you’re feeling better now. I can only imagine how tortuous not being able to vomit must be. Those brain cupcakes looked brilliant from the photos, you’ll have to make another event for them. LOVE the new hair!

Oh that’s awful. I had a bug like that about 3 weeks ago… I was at church when it started!! And it was uncontrollable. I am so sorry you felt so awful, and I am glad it’s over now. You poor thing.
